Might go wireless router. Is it possible to turn off wireless feature?

I might get a SMC wireless this week. I'm expecting DSL in less than 2 weeks. Is it possible to turn off the wireless feature completely? I'll be using cables for a while and wait for a cheap deal on wireless NICs.

My linksys has a place to disable the wireless in the set up.

yup i think the smc is capable of disabling wireless

I depend on the model, some do some do not.

However, you can set the WEP on, give it a ?crazy? SSID, and forget about it, it does not affect the Wired.

To make sure that no one is tapping, every once in while log to the DHCP, and see if there is unknown IPs.

I have the SMC 7004 VWBR and I disable the wireless mode because I'm also looking for a good deal on wireless Orinoco silver card for laptop.
