Might bite at a deal on NewEgg.

I just recently added another 2x2gb sticks of this this G.Skill RAM. I haven't even really tried OCing it yet, so I don't know how they'll perform in that regard.

NewEgg has the OCZ Reaper 4gb HK series kit on sale for $34 after MIR.

Although I currently have 8gb of G.Skill RAM, would snagging 2 of these be a worthy upgrade for less than $70 after MIR? I'm going to be picking up a GIGABYTE P45 UDP3 board soon, and plan on OCing my Q6600 even more, so would it be a good idea to grab some of this? I could also sell off my 8GB of RAM now for $60 or somethig, to help cut the cost.

Thoughts?

Annnd...bit.

I figure I can grab this at no cost after MIR and selling off my current RAM.

It will be somewhat of a trade-off/gamble for you. If you are planning to really push the Q6600 and run 8GB simultaneously, it will put a lot of pressure on the NB. Most people stick with 4GB with a high OC on the quad, but you could be fortunate and not have issues.

Has anyone else here had luck with a high FSB on the P45 GB w/ 8GB memory?

Going from your G.SKILL to that OCZ is a downgrade. Did you thoroughly study the specs?

G.SKILL: 4-4-4-12, 1.8v

OCZ: 4-4-4-15, 2.1v

The blingy heatsinks on the OCZ are there because the modules will fry without them. OCZ could afford to put them there because they spent so little on actual IC quality.

I have some OCZ Reaper PC8500 in my system atm and have to be honest i probably wont buy it again. Works fine now, but is frustrating when setting up. Many MB's default to 1.8v so you have to boot with some other 1.8v RAM. Crank voltage upto 2.1ish. Shutdown. Install your inefficent OCZ RAM. Then get the show on the raod.

Mayb i am jsut a little bit pedantic, but i'd much rather pic a product that can achieve the same speeds but with less volts. Can only be a good thing imo.

True.
And that's beside the fact that the OP is OCing a 1066 FSB based CPU.
The G.Skill PC2-6400 would allow for a 1:1 OC of the Q6600 up to 3.6GHz (with the memory running 100% in it's rated spec).
