A couple of nights ago I was playing around with a second system I have, and over clocked it a little to far, it wouldn't post. I didn't think nothing about it, I let it sit a min or two and rebooted, pressing enter to get into the bios. but it never booted, I decided to clear the cmos and thought that for sure would fix the problem, but it still wouldn't boot. I decided to change the cmos battery (thought what would it hurt) and then when I reboot all I get is a beep, beep, beep, ....etc..... I started counting but got to 25 and said forget it. I would describe them as being long beeps, if that helps. So I need to know if there is something wrong with the mother board and if so do I need to replace it. And if so does anyone know of a good CHEAP mother board that supports pc-133. I would like on board sound, and maybe LAN, also if it was one of those pc-133/pc2100 boards that would be cool. I know a lot to ask from a cheap board. And I am wanting to install Linux to this machine to learn, so if there is a Linux friendly board keep it in mind.

Soyo board 845 chipset
1.8a p4
384mb pc-133
350 PS
floppy
cd rom
geforce 2 ti 64mb

Try reseting the Ram, the CPU and the Video Card, it shouldn't be having problems just from overclocking and the beeping means that it is still living, at least a little bit.

That is all the board will except. And if the board is dead, I can save some money by only haveing to get a board and not ram and board. Not to mention I'm not going to be playing sin city 4 or anything on it.

Well I picked up another stick of RAM and put it in, that took care of the terrible beep, but now I have a new problem; it will not post for love or money. Would any one have any suggestion? thanks.
