Might be getting a new job.

I have an interview at the Apple Store on Friday at 3.
I currrently work at Sears.
If I get the job, should I put in my 2-week ASAP, or when should I put it in?

If were to put in my 2 week, that would mean I still had 2 more weeks at Sears while waiting to switch over to Apple.

Then again, I might not even get the job, so perhaps I'm jumping the gun?

Ah, problem solved, although I would want to start ASAP with Apple. >.<
I might look into woring my Apple schedule around my last 2 weeks at Sears if I do end up getting the job.

They might cut you loose early. That is always a possibility. Many employers would rather you are gone once you have let it be known you don't want to work there anymore.

If you are quitting a retail job, should you still write them a letter about a 2-week notification?

Duh.
You'll get bad references in the future if a 2 week is not used.

I thought 2 week notifications were only to ensure you get your vacation pay and preserve whatever benefits you are owed.

Otherwise, you can just get your ass outta there.

I thought bad references were illegal?

What I mean is a formal letter...say I'm working a crap end job as a cashier making $6 an hour. Can I just talk to the boss/manager and give them a hand written note instead of typing one out?
