Well here is the deal
I was supposed to get a 2004 Altima or Sentra (depending on my moms mood lol) for university starting in Sept.

But I saw a deal in the paper for a 1968 Cadillac Coupe Deville. It has 100k Kms on it. Always storaged during winter. Has the Stacked head lights (straight ones came in 69.) Mechanically Redone $5000 done on, put in an environment package, new exhaust system etc...... Interior needs some work, and probably needs a new or repair job on the hard top.

OK what I plan:
FIrst take to mechanic (uncle) get it checked out fully. Then off to Upstate NY to my other cousins friend for 2 weeks to have interior and exterior redone in Red and White leather. 100- 200 spoke rims. (estimate 5 k for body and interior) ANd have another 5k ready incase I need for engine, but engine looks to be in great condition, but will know for sure after

What do u guys think?

BTW its a 7.1 engine (the 472, 375 Hp and 512ft/lbs of torque)

Might make a better project/fun car than a daily driver. Plus it will drink alot a fuel. But sure sounds fun!

Especially when you hammer the accelerator whenever you start out. :)

Basically for school will just take me to school on sunday and back to home on friday (about 60 miles each way), thats about all I would be driving it, other than that will be driving a 4 banger gallant to run errands at home.

15mpg is not bad for highway cruising compared to a newer biga$$ SUV. I'd take this Caddy anyday over those.

True RoadPig. That car is fantastic. If you can suffer the gas, I'd go for it.

Dude... are you freaking serious? You want this junk over a 2004 Nissan!?!?

You are crazy.

Get the Nissan and forget about it for the next 5 years... then change the timing belt and water pump, then forget about it for another 5 years.

I'm not even a Nissan fan and I'd rather have the brand new altima, too.

Same here. I can see having the Caddy as a second car, but not a daily driver.

That car is pimp, but you're insane for picking it over a 2004 Nissan for your primary ride.

yeah get the altima as a daily commuter and the caddy for the weekends.

Get a matching purple suit and floppy hat to go with that caddy.
