Might be a dumb question: Splitting Cable?

I have cable in one room where I just put a new TV, and wanted to know if I could get a splitter and run one cable to my Cable Modem and the other to the TV. Would this cause any interruption to the cable internet while watching TV, or vis versa? Thanks in advance!

the only thing it might do is degrade the signal, you can try it. but in theory the cable can be split and the modem and tv will have no problem.

like i said, it is doable and probably will work assuming your cable and splitter quality is good.

I do it, and it works just fine (not only that, but there are at least two other splitters on the line.) Just watch the splitter and cable quality, as martind1 says.
