Auction reserve for this plane is below market value. Delivery in the US will cost about $10,000 in advance and requires a ground crew to follow the plane with Nitrogen, O2, ladders and start carts. This arrangement, if necessary, will be made separately with current owner after the auction and is not included in the bid price.

Damn, if only I was extremely wealthy. I'd paint it either in camo or some sort of red and black design, and I'd go buzzing my neighborhood with it. Well, maybe not that last part since I'd probably either get arrested or kill myself/someone else, but still. Damn.

A guy I know actually bought a MiG a few years ago, I haven't been able to see it in person yet, but he has pictures of it. I can't remember if it is the same one as this - the plane is at their private hanger at their private airport. It is way too far for me to drive just to go see it. If I am ever in that direction, I will take pics.

This was the high performance threat faced by NATO for 20 years and will outrun most F-16s

Yeh, this thing can outrun most F-16s. ...while the F-16 is Parked in its hanger!

Gimmee a break.

F-16's top speed is about 1500mph...that's a tad over mach2, so I'd say this mig21, if it can still push mach2.1, would be just about even with the F-16 in a speed race. Remember, most Russian "fighters" (more like interceptors) after the mig-17 were build to do one thing...go really friggin fast. (heck, we did it too-- F-104 Starfighter comes to mind)

as far as it being a threat...Mig-21s were about 1:1 with the F-4 Phantoms & F-8 Crusaders they faced in Vietnam, until we started the "Top Gun" program

I'd love to have one of these, but the maintenace would be killer.

Cessnas and Maules are slow, but they're reasonably priced by comparison. ;)

Abacus. Later models had a slide rule.
