Midways titles removed from Xbox Live Arcade

Some Xbox Live Arcade titles are no longer available for purchase due to "publisher evolving rights and permissions" according to Xbox Live Director of Programming, Larry Hyrb aka Major Nelson. This would be a single publisher though as all the titles removed are from Midway.

The list of titles is:

• Cyberball
• Defender
• Paperboy
• Rootbeer Tapper
• Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
• Robotron
• Joust
• Gauntlet
• Smash TV

Major Nelson states that the decision to remove these titles is not related to the impending release of Game Room for Xbox Live Arcade. However, we wouldn't be surprised to see these titles in Game Room (with the exception of Mortal Kombat 3) after it makes its debut in March.

Gamers who purchased any of the above titles from Xbox Live Arcade will still be able to play the games and re-download.
