Middle school teacher does part time porn/ everyone is upset

http://www.vcstar.com/news/2012/mar/06/oxnard-teacher-accused-of-moonlighting-in-porn/

So essentially there's a young middle school teacher who did a few part time porn movies on her free time whilst teaching. A few kids found out, then teachers, and now everyone knows. She was immediately suspended and may lose her job. People are saying things like "is this who you want teaching your kids" and etc

My thoughts are "really?!" Lose her job? Why? Would they be upset if they found out she worked part time in a convenience store bagging groceries? Or if she sold newpapers on the side of the road or something? I mean I'm losing the their logical thought thread here.

Personally I'd be more upset if the middle school teacher of my kids was obese, a smoker, doesn't exercises or just a bad teacher than if they did porn. I mean only a handful of kids may go into the porn industry based on a role model, but how many kids will smoke, be comfortable with being overweight, eat poorly, not exercise, etc based on what they see adults do? Also if you want better teachers with more credible backgrounds, pay more. I'm just saying. This country talks a big game about how much we care about our kids but honestly no one gives a crap about how kids are raised in the home and how little they are taught (not necessarily because of teachers either) at schools.

Anyway, rant aside, would you care if you found out a local middle school teacher did a few porn shoots on her free time in the past?

Who cares, if she's filming it in front of the children then kick up a fuss, if not leave her alone.

Parents get all kinds of upset about this. Completely ridiculous that they feel compelled to police the private lives of teachers.

I don't care, but I don't have kids. If I did, I'd feel awkward if I knew that they, or I, for that matter, could watch their teacher having sex. And now that the news is out, you know that's what they're all going to do. "Break out the Google, I'm hot for teacher!"

Seems like RJ is a highly qualified individual to teach and his background in the adult film industry gives him insights and contacts many would not have.

I heard this on the radio this morning. I think this is the lady who appeared in an episode of Sausage Pizza.

You can not be engaged in questionable things like porn in your personal life, then expect to want to teach someone's kids. It really is just common sense.

Those damn kids Googling people...?

lol... Those damn teachers...

Some students had spread a rumor that one of the teachers was a porn star, Chancer said. Haydock administrators investigated but didn't find any evidence that the rumors were true. They sent an email to staff members saying the rumors were unfounded.

Later that day, however, a few teachers reported to school officials that they thought the rumors might be true, based on information they had found online.

Who cares! If she is an effective educator, and her part time job doesn't interfere with her primary duties ( ie teaching) then lets drop it.

Wow. It took you unusually long to start trolling. Busy at school today? Teacher giving you a lot of one on one tutoring?

Regardless of how you feel about porn, the facts are out in the open and thus would be a huge distractions for the kids, parents, and other teachers. The learning environment would be lessened, so she should probably go. Not saying she can't teach, just that another district where she might be able to keep this under wraps would be best for the kids.
