A friend has a 3 button mouse & has recently upgraded to WinMe from 98SE.

Usually in Win95/Win98/Win98Se We just change the mouse driver to the standard Logitech PS2 port mouse & the middle mouse button can be used to click & scroll while browsing online.

However, changing the driver to the standard Logitech PS2 mouse driver in WinMe, It activates the middle button as usual, but now it seems like its setup as a replacement for double clicking the left mouse button NOT scrolling in Internet Explorer.

How the heck do you set the middle mouse button to click & scroll in WinMe?

If you have a Logitech mouse, you can goto support.toshiba.com and goto the download section. There specify that you have a laptop and then a Satellite Pro, then a 4280XDVD. There, you will be able to get Logitechs latest mouse drivers. If you have a Microsoft Mouse, then goto http://www.microsoft.com/hardware. There you will be able to download the latest drivers from Microsoft. If have have neither mice, then try the manufacturer of the mouse for drivers.

I downloaded the new mouseware from Logitechs site, installed it & it caused some MAJOR headaches.

WinMe kept getting a resource conflict btween the mouse & modem, so the modem kept getting "flagged".

Tried shuffling IRQs to no avail, then I finally removed modem, mouse & all comm ports in safe mode , rebooted & ended up with the same darn thing.

After a bunch of trial & error I finally got the mouse & modem working at the same time but I had to disable comm2 in device manager.

Now everything works.

BUT
If this was MY system, I think I'd do without that middle mouse scroll, I personally do not care for having anything disabled in my device manager/except for maybe SB 16 emulation that I dont need.
