Middle Earth: Shadow of War Announced

Looks cool. I hate cinematic trailers for games though. Basically tells us absolutely nothing except the title of the game.

Should be better than SoM though. That was a pretty good game, and really that's saying a lot for a game that is basically a tech/concept demo. This should be better, which should mean it is going to be very good.

Loved the first one and unless they make a worse game, it will be a definite buy for me. The only question is PC or PS4 this time around.

The first one is still in my massive pile of "games I played about 70% to the end and haven't finished" so I probably shouldn't buy this one.

Looks as expected. Assuming you aren't nagged with microtransaction crap, this is a definite buy (once the reviews are out) .

I hope the ending is better than the first one. The final boss battle felt so anti-climatic.
Judging by the cutscenes, I see a Nazgul with a fell beast, a Balrog and Sauron himself. I'm assuming we'll get to fight at least one and that is what gets me excited.

Hmmm..for those who might want to pre-order it at a discount.. GMG has it for 20% off + an additional 5% off coupon - $44.99.

They did basically admit that they ran out of time for the end. well you can ride a drake so that something 🙂

"Our ending was a bit abrupt last time because we kind of ran out of time," he says. "That wasn't quite what we wanted it to be. So this time we want to overcompensate in terms of having this absolutely epic finale and showdown with the Dark Lord, with the Witch King, with your army building up. Kind of over-correcting in the other direction."

forgot I had SoM in my Steam library. turns out the war chiefs aren't actually that hard to fight...

/cool story

Because of the Lord of the Rings setting I'm really thinking about getting this game. Seems like it's all in Mordor and that's ok with me I think. Since not much has been posted on it in a year in Anand, at least in this thread, I wondered how it's going with the gameplay or any features of the game for anyone.

Have you tried the first one? It's tons of fun, with excellent voice acting, and a fairly good story (I didn't quite finish the game though - typical for me).

Yes I played some of the first one. Was pretty cool following friendly npcs to do quests/missons. The visuals stood out with the glistening wet rocks and other shiny graphic objects. I tend to fall for glitzy, pretty environments.

I haven't heard much about the second other than it was supposed to follow a pay-to-win model right from the start. Not to mention they had the different tiers where you could see the "entire story" if you paid for the most expensive edition which is the same as what EA used to do by releasing a game and locking a chunk of the main game away behind a paid DLC.

I honestly don't have much faith in anything WB does. I think the last thing WB did right was Animaniacs.
