Mid-Range Video Cards...Which To Pick!

My friend has a choice of the following for a new video card. PCI-E or AGP...doesn't matter. The board can take either. He's just looking for something to play some games on...doesn't have to be the best. These are all in the same price range on newegg (150-175). So which is the best?

X800 128MB
X800GT 256MB
6600GT 128MB
6800 128MB

Are you sure his board can take PCI-e and AGP. That's pretty rare. If he actually has that board, you'd think he'd know what video card to get. Unless some salesman told him "that's what he needed" and he fell for it.

All the video cards are good (listed above), just look for a good price.

Well we haven't built the system yet...just looking for prospective cards. The ASRock board with the AGP and PCI-e looks decent for the price and it got nice reviews 🙂.

he must be using the ASRock..

x800gt is only 8 pipe. it's pretty sad. the 6600gt is only 8 pipe. it's also pretty sad.

x800 for pci-e is good dince the 6800 fro pci-e is crippled with 600mhz memory and no unlock.
the 6800 for agp is better since it comes with 700mhz memory and a good 50% unlock percentage.
