I'm looking at putting together a nice little home office computer with a budget of about $1500 and got about everything but the video card figured out. I don't have a clue as to what get. Something around $100... that is good for an office; good at everything, little to no 3d needed, etc. What's your input? thanks.

I would pick up a Matrox G400 SDR (or a G450 whenever they come out). The best 2D image quality available.

Yeah, g400 is really nice. Can be had for about $125 w/ 32mb or $100 w/ 16mb.

If you want to go even less expensive. Find a G200 8mb. Can be had for $60.

Both have superb 2D and quality 3d.

Basically almost all budget video cards will suit your needs. These include G400 SH, V3 1000/2000, Savage4s and TNT2s, i.e. anything around 1-2 generations old
