Mid-range printer w/ scanner?

Most of my printing jobs are either 1-2 pages, or 20 pages, never really more than 20.

I'm looking for a fast, reliable printer, that also works as a scanner. Color quality needs to be nice, but I do NOT plan on printing high quality pictures.

If it had a built in fax, it wouldn't be used.

I'm thinking something around $100ish, any suggestions?
 
Canon would be my first choice, followed by Epson.

IME, the big problem with Epsons has been the "new ink" that clogs print heads pretty quickly if you don't print something just about every day.
 
I have a Dell All-In-one that works perfectly (color inkjet + flatbed scanner) that I would be happy to send to you if you pay shipping + $10. We've only used most of the original inks that came with it.

- For the average consumer, consider low budget $20 printers, average (mid) $100, and then high anything over $150ish.

When you're talking about business, even a $500 printer can be considered low budget.

I'm looking specifically for model numbers. I know Canon makes good printers, same with Epson and Dell, however, there has to be one that is better than the rest...

Lol... I'd never buy an inkjet when you can afford a low end color laser.
It will pay for itself in the life of the toner, vs the cost of an inkjet and $80 in cartridges every few hundred pages.
 
I have a Canon MP160 - Scanner/Copier/Inkjet printer. I got it for $80 back in September but I believe you can find it for around $60 now. I use it for about the same stuff you describe and it works perfectly.
