person is after budget, going for more than 16GB is not going to be cheap (ram costs).

ASRock Z68 Extreme4 or the MSI Z68A-GD65 I think would go very well with the Intel® Core™ i7-2700K.

I've had good experience with Asus. Any p67 or z68 will be fine. If you want to use the onboard video or SSD caching you'll have to go with z68. These are worth looking at around your price range:
