I don't know where you are buying these parts from... but it looks like you are overpaying.

I live in canada aswell, and generally buy from BC or Alberta because it is 6% sales tax.

So i would look at www.directcanada.com and www.ncix.com.

Ok first off ditch that ram. If you need DDR2-1066 then get crucial stuff. I don't know if you plan on Ocing or not. If not then get DDR2-800. For DDR2-800 i would get the Mushkin HP2-6400... should be the cheapest available Micron D9GMH's.

I would pay the extra 22$ and get the Gigabyte DS3R. It has 6 phase power and a better soundcard.

I would ditch that PSU for the Corsair 520HX and get a different case.

HD is fine.

The graphics card i think you are overpaying. I just built a system with the BFG Gefore OC 640MB version and it only cost me $340.

You can PM me and we can discuss deals in canada and where to buy things.

Sorry here is a description of the system i just built:

BFG GeForce 8800GTS OC 550MHZ 640MB 1.6GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out HDCP DIRECTX10 Video Card $360 - $30 MIR
Corsair CMPSU-520HX 520W ATX Triple 12V 50A 24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply 120MM Fan 2X PCI-E $109 - $10 MIR
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Quad Core Processor LGA775 Kentsfield 2.40GHZ 1066FSB 8MB Retail Box $290
Western Digital SE16 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB 8.9MS Hard Drive OEM 3 Year MFR Warranty $70
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R $141.35
Antec P182 Gun Metal Black $100
Pioneer DVR-212D (Black) SATA DVD-Writer $33.38
Buffalo Firestix DDR2-800 (Micron D9GMH) $114.99

So that is a total of $1291.84 - $40 MIR = $1251.84 (with taxes)

I think the shipping total was about $40 for 1-2 day air.

I got him the Antec P182 at a wicked price, however that cannot be gotten again.

My friend is a relative non-gamer but wants to leave his options open. I have noticed that most posters are going with the quad core cpu's is that a huge plus? I wasn't going to recommend it.

(In some bench marks the E6750 scores better than the Q8800)

I like this other thread... some good ideas... a lot cheaper too.
