Topic.

I'm considering a rig with 2 mid-range GPUs in a SLI or Crossfire configuration, and wondering what the performance disparity will be between the two setups. If it's not as notable, I'll probably go with Crossfire for the multi-monitor support and what seems to be cheaper Mobos.

Feel free to post any general pros/cons. I've been looking heavily into SLI up until now, and am only beginning to swerve towards Crossfire.

CF tends to scale better, but better scaling with weaker individual cards kinda kills the point now doesn't it? I'd say SLi the 9600 GTs if I had to choose, or just wait for RV770 and G200 and decide then. As for mobos, like I said in the Motherboards section, the 750i is a rather cheap SLI board, performance is nice and the features are more based on the 790 than the 780 so a lot of the problems you think were there are gone now. Up to you ultimately of course, just my 2 cents.
