Gonna build new computer soon and will need to buy a new case/PSU. I will be getting a 8800gt video card and I have heard that they are very long. Any 8800gt owners want to offer some advice on case size? Full towers are not as plentiful on newegg and tend to be more expensive...looking for standard form factor ATX...am I stuck getting a huge tower if I want this vid card?

It fits in an Antec Sonata II, Cooler Master Centurion and Thermaltake Soprano RS. Pretty sure it'll fit most standard ATX midtowers.

are you fixed on silence? If not read on.

How big is your budget? average? read on.

Are you a hardcore overclocker/gamer? somewhat? read on.

If you have a budget of around 120, want a case which isnt limited to ANY sink.

Have enough room for SLI or whatever you want, and itsnt too big on your desk.

My vote goes out the DangerDen Toture Rack. You can find them at there website.

Hands down my favorate mid sized case now. Well its not really a case more of a flat bed.

The Antec Solo is a fairly small case by ATX mid-tower standards, and an 8800GT fits just fine. It's not as long as something like an 8800GTX, so with most cases you shouldn't have a problem.

actually any case which could fit a full sized motherboard should be fine.

The cards dont reach the end of the board. Refer to my first picture.

EW is a much better choice.

8800GT will fit in the Antec Sonata III with a fan attached to HD case (just the pci-e connector will touch the fan's back)

Earthwatts is also cheap nowadays. $34.99 for a 380W no rebates....and to think I bought mine two weeks ago at 54.99 with a $25MIR that I just sent out yesterday.

The EarthWatts is a better choice. Is there a reason you're only considering cases with included PSUs? The EarthWatts is one of very few exceptions to the "included PSUs suck" rule.

Well I was trying to keep costs down but the more I read tells me that a good PSU is essential. As I am getting together components for my new build, the PSU and case seem to be the hardest to choose! Looking at one of many 500-550 watt antec psu's and will find a suitable case to match. True power/earthwatts? Is there a difference?

Don't hesitate to stray away from Antec. You can buy a great, quality case from Cooler Master and pair it up with a high quality Corsair. Both should last you years down the road.

Most if not all TruePower IIIs are made on the same/similar (correct me if I'm wrong) platforms as the Earthwatts just that the TP3s have mostly 120mm fans vs only the 650W Earthwatts having the 120mm (but the 80mm versions aren't loud anyway).
