Mid Life Crisis. I think i get it now.

3 yrs ago i started a consulting firm. i've earned quite a good reputation and my business is really starting to take off. i enjoy my work and i have a great clientelle yet:

all i can do is dream about the day when i can just buy myself out and just relax.

when dreams become nothing more than desire for stability, that's sad.

my dreams don't excite me anymore, i don't yearn for excitement anymore.

i've achieved most of the things that society has always said one needs to achieve and yet . . .

i turn 40 in january, i guess i'm at that age.

I don't settle yet, but thoughts like 'hey, I'm doing a lot better than many people, give it a rest' start visiting me more often. First sign.

Imagine feeling that way at 24... life sucks.

you only THINK you feel that way.

you can't know how it feels because you haven't really accomplished anything yet.

i got married
we have 3 children
i bought and sold my first house
i started a business

I don't think I'm to your extreme but I'm 26, still have a lot of goals and dreams to achieve. But I do feel what you are feeling. I started my own consulting business, did pretty well until I got a great paying job (65K). I met the girl of my dream, looking for my first house, did a lot of traveling, and here in ATOT. Life is good.

i feel really bad for you guys that feel this way at 26.

at 26 i was too busy with enjoying my life of no responsibility to feel like this.

once i got married i became all responsibility, oh well, not a bad thing just miss my old carefree life a bit.

thanks for the pm fellas.

overall i'm very happy and relatively satisfied with my life.

i'm still excited about where i can take my company, but there is a bit of the feeling that i've kind of reached my peak.

Welcome to the 40 club...

Ausm

Yup, knowing that I'll never be a quarterback, rockstar or dentist has caused me some depression. Then there's marriage...ugh.

I'm 41 and pretty darned happy though, just picked up mnt biking and love it. In great shape and climb mt. charleston every year with my brother.

Life is good. In fact, I now look at it as preperation for eternity. That always cheers me up!!

np... I'm in Houston. Just take I-10 West. Exit Voss. 🙂

While you're in Houston, you may as well take in a game. 😀

Speaking of being someone's bitch, has Rafael Furcal tossed anyone's salad yet?
