There was recently a 9to5mac article that discussed upgrading the stock SSD in the rMBP to a OWC or Transcend SSD, but while researching these options I discovered that Yosemite does not support the Trim Enabler application and there's no way to enable TRIM on Yosemite without disabling kext signing.

Here's my question, with the SSDs the way they are now, do I need to enable TRIM if I get the OWC or Transcend SSD options? Should I find a 512GB Apple SSD on eBay to replace my 256GB SSD within my computer?

The only way to enable TRIM without having to disable kext signing would be to find a 512GB Apple SSD on ebay. There is one third party manufacturer, Angelbird, that makes a 2.5" SSD for Macs that supports TRIM, but they don't make an SSD that will fit into your rMBP.
