That's true, sort of. Styrofoam is Dow's trademarked name for the (you're right, blue) polystyrene insulation used in construction. However, you're wrong that it still isn't "styrofoam" - the word styrofoam has become the generic term for just about any polystyrene products such as cups, plates, etc. See "kleenex" for further details.Originally posted by: Midlander
