Microwave ovens

i have this microwave oven for 5yrs and it still works and all but do these things
last forever?...assuming the bulb still turns on and it still heats? would an old oven not
heat stuff up evenly or over/under heat? any ideas?

recently i noticed a strange phenomenon...i have a cold plate with leftovers and i heat it up.
the food comes out flaming hot but the plate its on is still slightly cold. 😕

your plate shouldn't be warming up. if it does it has metal in it.

I have had two that started cooking unevenly and slower aftre a couple of years.

We had one for like 20 years. It still worked okay, but it was just getting kind of tired and old looking, plus the thing was enormous, so we got a new one.

just to annoy you

gist is that metal just makes the microwaves bounce all around and get hyperactive and then start making heat and such.
