Microtek Scanmaker 4600 + TMA adapter= ???

I have the Microtek Scanmaker 4600. I want to scan slides (positive film or positive transparent media). The Microtek website for the 4600 lists the MTMA (Transparent Media Adapter) as an accessory for the 4600.
When I do a search on the MTMA, it shows a device which is only compatible with the Scanmaker 4700 and it doesn't mention the 4600.
Anyone have any experience or input on this, before I order a potentially useless accessory for $80.00 ?
