I have some software that I have written that needs to be able to share data with MicroStation. I currently create DXF files and People who use AutoCAD have no problems reading the files. Well now someone needs to be able to read them into MicroStation, I said fine MicroStation supports DXF so just read in the DXF file. When they read in one of the DXF files my software creates they get an error message. I was hoping someone here would be willing to work with me to try and find out what I'm doing wrong.

The error message they get is something like "cell origin redefined to fit design plane". This has something to do with DXF blocks that much I know but beyond that I'm stumped. Unfortunatley I don't have access to either AutoCAD or MicroStation so I'm working pretty blind.

The file that you are dxf'ing...does it have blocks or xrefs? what release of autocad aare you using?

Bind all xrefs in the dwg file and explode them.
Explode all bloacks.
Perform a wblock on the drawing to purge all unused blocks, etc.
open the new drawing.
perform dxfout...release 12 dxf works well
