Microsoft has created a new program called Upgrade Advantage link. This program helps people running businesses, schools, etc with licensing by allowing them to buy floating licenses, which allow you to buy a license and then use it to upgrade over the next 2 years. Therefore, if you have NT4, you could buy one license, upgrade to 2000, and then upgrade to XP on the same license(if i understand everything correctly).

My question is: where the heck is pricing for it? CDW is basically useless link. Look at all of those letters, i cant figure out which is which.

Microsoft's licensing has become so convuluted lately that my advice is to contact a license specialist that can help and explain. CDW has them.

Basically what you said is correct. We receive academic pricing here, and the upgrade advantage isn't a drastic increase over what the regular academic prices are. About the only thing you are responsible for is the media cost, which runs about $20. Of course you really only need to buy one of those so it works out well when it comes time to upgrade.

I'm trying to grasp CDW as we speak. If its only $31 for a level A license(which we are) I will give Bill Gates a kiss myself. BTW, i thought MS was trying to convince people that licensing was easier now. Any company that requires you to be a certified license specialist to sell licenses has issues.
