Microsofts update servers blow

Anyone else find that their Xbox or pc downloads updates slow AF? Out of a 100 meg connection I'm lucky to pull half my bandwidth.

Must be apple severely cutting into their profits and can't afford the tech or bandwidth

Anything Microsoft is always bloody slow to update, I don't know WTF they do that it takes that long. It's not really the servers, since even once it's done downloading it still takes bloody ages. At least windows, not sure about Xbox. In the time it takes to run Windows update on a relatively up to date machine you can install and fully update a Linux distro from scratch.

Limiting their bandwidth then, Xbox is slower but that might be from the Xbox hardware.

Apple has ate into microsofts market share and profits, straight facts homey
But not their bandwidth, unless Apple is DDoS'ing Microsoft with their iPhones and whatnot now.

Anyways, I think that there are some DDoS attacks going on right now. I can't pull up www.newegg.com for some reason, images10.newegg.com won't load. DownForMe says it's down.

Cleared my cookies for Newegg, still assigning me that image server.

Anyways, use your head, MS's download servers might be slower, not because Apple is hurting them financially, and they can't afford to spin up a few Linux servers for their download boxes, but rather because of the fact that MS only just recently released their newest version of Win10, the Fall Creator's Update, and it is being delivered to millions of PCs via Windows Update. Think for a minute, rather than trolling.

Apple and Microsoft have different market that they dominate at. MS dominates the desktop, Apple dominates phones/mobile devices. Not sure how that would affect the Xbox. MS is the only one of the two that even has a game console. Actually I'm kinda surprised Apple never got into that, first they need to patent "a device for playing video games on a television set" so that they can sue all the other console makers. 😛

I heard Microsoft dominates the Xbox market.

Freaking monopoly! I think something should be done.

Could be worse, imagine if EA had their own console? You'd buy the console, but the OS would be extra locked content that you'd have to pay extra for. 😛

First you need to get power supply and controller. Not included with the console.

Look up "Windows Update Delivery Optimization and privacy". They already farmed update bandwidth out to their user base.
