Microsoft's RDP client seems slow

Hello, does anyone use Microsoft's RDP client at home?

I connect to my Windows XP box through my Macbook via RDP. It seems quite slow. Wired or wireless.

I just connected to my Windows XP box from my Dad's Windows XP machine and it felt a lot snappier. Is this a limitation because I'm on a Mac?

Edit: I just tried CoRD and it seems a bit faster. Still doesn't feel like doing it on a Windows XP machine though.

I wouldn't call it "slow", but it's not as fast as the Windows RDP clients.

You're working with XP, but with Vista, if you RDP into another Vista machine, you get graphics acceleration locally for dwm and that definitely contributes to perceived speed. The Mac doesn't have that bonus.

I've never really noticed much of a lag compared to using the Microsoft RDP on a windows machine. It is there, but not too noticeable. Besides, I switched to Chicken of the VNC for most of what I do and haven't looked back. (UltraVNC for the windows machines)
