While it sounds like it's still all rumors and nothing is official, as long as this thing doesn't become the norm and I'm not forced to use it, I'm cool with it.

however if this replaces the current 360 controllers and style of playing, I'm going to be pretty heated.

The fact that the original source called it "a colossal clusterf---" doesn't lead to much encouragement.

I can't see this selling well like most peripherals unless they come out with a lot of games that support it and make it compatible with existing games.

I'm wondering if they are just trying to prototype something with the 360 now in anticipation of a motion-based controller for the next Xbox.

They'd better hope it is more successful than the Apple Newton was ;) Wonder if there can be any trademark issues?

Of course it "exists"...it doesn't mean squat for production. So do Blu-Ray players for the 360, and other neat gadgets no one will/may not ever see due to feasibility reasons.

Until it comes straight from MS' mouth that "oh hey we have a new Wiipieceofsh!t controller launching on X date", I really don't care.

I hope they invest a ton of money in it and it flops, negating any profits they just recently started to earn.

If they're making a motion sensing controller I would hope it's one designed for pointing. Close enough to mouse. I really don't see the need for tilt-sensors and accelerometers and what have you.

I kind of hope the motion controls don't become the normal way of playing games. I have a Wii and the motion controls are great, if the game is designed to use them correctly. Prime 3 is a good example. However for a lot of stuff a regular controller is a lot more comfortable.

QFT--- a pointer function will integrate well into the fps controls scheme that comprises the core games for the xbox360. Motion games are more for the DDR'esque party games and activity simulations that comprise the wii audience.

Where are the cries that Microsoft is ripping off Nintendo? Where are those fanboys now? Come on out, fanboys!

Hmmm, if they do it right I can see it being a better solution for playing RTS games on console considering most people do not have a suitable setup for mouse and keyboard for console.

I tried "Battle for Middle-earth II" on the console and the controller is totally useless for such a game style.

We own a 360 and a Wii, I have an original Xbox, PS2, GC, PSP, and NES sitting here too. I will not praise unoriginality regardless of who it comes from.

Don't be ridiculous, of course it wont replace anything. Controller peripherals never have, and never will.

If they do actually bring out something like this, I'm just hoping its advanced enough to feasibly play an RTS or an FPS, but somehow I doubt it. I'm guessing this is more a ploy to capture the casual gamer rather than create an advanced control scheme.

It's too bad no one told microsoft that no matter how much they copy the Wii's controller, there is absolutely no way in hell, absolutely positively 1000000% no way in the burning depths of hell that they will EVER any capture any significant amount of casual gamers on the 360.

The only chance they have of doing that is with an entirely new system that copies the Wii's pricetag and image along with it's controller, and theyre going to have to insult their hardcore userbase in order to do so. No one wants to be called a n****r in a casual game, and while my mom can figure out the wii, even if she had an easier controller, the 360 UI would confuse the hell out of her. It would probably also help if it was a lot smaller, didnt break all the time, and wasnt offensively loud.

And on top of that, there is no way a casual gamer is going to buy *two* consoles. They're only buying one, and that one will never be the 360 as long as the Wii still exists.

Too little, too late, wrong place, wrong time.
