Microsoft Word weird menu

Looks like there's multiple listings of "Mail Merge" under Tools. Uninstallation and reinstallation of Word didn't fix the problem. Another issue is that Word tries to open a template when the program starts up, which produces an error.

Under the tools menu click on "Customize", goto the "Commands" tab, pull down the tools menu and right click on each instance of "Mail Merge" and select delete.

try typing this into run

winword.exe /s

it looks like a corrupt normal.dot

didn't work, each instance of Mail Merge did not show up.

this is a legit copy of Office

Can you manually remove the items under Tools / Customize?
