Microsoft Word: How do I start page numbering on page 3(as page 1)?

Seems like a silly feature in word. I can get it to start page 2 as page number 1, leaving actual page 1 blank.

I can get it to start actual page 3 as page 1, but then actual page 1 and 2 get numbered as 1 and 2 and it goes 1,2,1,2,3,4...

I want actual page 1 to be blank, actual page 2 to be blank, and actual page 3+ to start numbering from page 1.

Any ideas?

Insert New Section Breaks, you can number some, and not number others. Use it for technical reports all the time.

That only works if you want to hide the first page. Doesn't work for hiding the first two pages.

1st page, 2nd page, whatever. you just have to break them into sections.

Yup, Section Breaks are the key.

EDIT: More specifically:

1. Insert a new section break at the end of page two.

2. Insert your page number on page 3, have it start at page 3.

3. Go to View / Header and Footer and make sure that "Link to Previous" is NOT enabled for Section 2.

4. Delete the page number from section 1.
