Microsoft Word - How can I slow down scroll speed?

When the cursor is placed at the end of a document, the scroll is so fast that I cannot stop it at a position until it reaches the end of the document.
How can I slow down the "fast" scroll that is triggered when placing the cursor in the end position (top or bottom) of the screen?

Is this a Windows function or a Microsoft Word function?
I am using Office 2000, Word 2000 in Windows 2000 Pro.

This drives me nuts so I hope there's a proper solution to it.

The only way I've found to circumvent this is to use the scroll wheel (if you have one). Click and hold the left mouse button where you want to start, then use the wheel to scroll through at your leisure.

I didn't think of that.
Thanks Rob.
Sure someone knows a better way.
I also thought of slowing down my computer, but I like the speed with the hard drive and cdrom access.

Also I can run multiple tasking well that will be seriously affected.
