A person I know has been having problems with his Microsoft Word installation. Here's what he posted:

Yesterday I ran things fine. Today, I find word 2000 refuses to allow
more than one instance of itself without crashing the system badly.
VERY badly.
There's been no software installed between yesterday and today. And I
often run with multiple copies of word up because the stupid program
isn't MDI compatible and I need to keep my plotline file up for
reference, and occasionally other chapters as well.
I've tried the ms knowledge base with little luck. I've not found any
decent websites with troubleshooting tips for word 2000 and am about
to bite the bullet and pay for the time to download open office
despite being on a dialup connection.
So if you have experienced this problem, or know of a good site with
troubleshooting help for win word, 2000, I'd like to know about it.
I've already done the uninstall/reinstall route to no avail.
Any help would be appreciated!
