Hi!

I have a very quick and urgent question ... :( .... I just got my set, and I see that the keys look horrible. The glue used to stick the keys to the keyboard shows as dirty spots ... the space-bar looks filthy because of three such spots.. are your keys also the same? Kind of half transparent half black?

Please let me know before I return send it back... Did I get a wrong piece?

p.s.: Also the print on the keyboard says 1.0A ... though the mouse says 2.0. Help please!!

Thanks .. it helps. Actually on looking at it further .. it seems that the keys are kind of semi-clear, and have some pattern on the ack which gives this look. I asked a couple of othe rpeople, and they say the same ....

Yeah, but I have the optical desktop pro (ergonomic + wireless version). I thought it was dirty when I first bought it too. They make it transparent black with lines on the sides to make it look cool, but it just ends up looking dirty. I think it'd look way better if at least the top of the keys were solid black.

Don't worry about it. They just come that way. Bad design intended to look cool.

oh yeah... the function keys are set to the actions instead of F1, F2, etc. You have to press the F-Lock key if you want to switch it to F# mode, othewise when you press F1 or F2 you'll open a Help file or Undo or whatever the key says. I find it incredibly annoying because I'd never use those keys for those purposes, I just want regular F# keys. Here's a fix:

Downoad the package for your specific keyboard and just double-click on the registry file to set the F keys back to normal.

Microsoft has done pretty well in the hardware department...I've been using my wireless MS keyboard for over six months now, and it's been working fantastic. Oh, and I haven't had to change the batteries yet! (just regular alkalines). The keyboard appearance could be worked on, but the hardware itself works great.

I don't like the Microsoft mouse, however. I use a Logitech MX700 :)
