OK, I have a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 mouse and a wireless Natural Multimedia keyboard. I've had them for about two months, working just fine on a wooden desk (gone now).
Well, I moved my stuff downstairs into larger room (my roommate that isn't here much it taking my old, smaller room) and my dad picked me up a NICE all metal desk from work. So I moved my computer downstairs and set it up on the metal table. Keyboard works just great, but the mouse just FREAKS out whenever I try to use it and says that the signal is too low. It stutters and craps out all over the place. Even when used on top of my mouse pad. I even moved the receiver to like 5 inches in front of the mouse and it still craps out.
So, I picked the mouse up, and started running it over my hand and it works fine. So I got a clipboard and placed my mousepad on top of it and sat in my lap. Works like a champ. So then I took the clipboard/mousepad/mouse combo and set it on the desk...craps out again. I lifted it up about 4 inches from the desk...works fine.
So what can I do? It must be radio interference or something with the desk, but I don't want to get rid of it
I don't have anything to use. Is there anything I can set on top of the desk to mask the interference??
