Hello. I sold a used Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard Combo on ebay that was fully functional and 100% perfect. I ran mozilla firefox and xp at my home. I just recieved an email from the person that bought and it reads:

The TILT wheels on both (keyboard and mouse) do NOT scroll horizontally, and the one
on the keyboard does NOT scroll vertically, either. In addition, I cannot get the "My Favorites" to function after programming and re-programming the keys; and when I click on "show favorites," I do NOT get a visual screen identifying what each key is suppose to do. Next, the "my documents," "my pictures," "my music," "log off," and "sleep" keys do nothing at all. The "calculator," "back/forward" (near tilt wheel) keys do work, though.
Finally, when I click on the "F lock" function keys, to utilize the top part of the upper row of keys, none of those functions work. Please help me--I have read the manual and followed the instructions, but cannot get these keys to function.

Could the be related to anything her computer is running or her browser? She contacted microsoft for help because i really dont think i can do anything. Does this also sound like maybe it got damaged? Anybody have any info or comments they can help me with please go right ahead. thanks.

does not sound like damage to me, if it was there would probably be visual indication of it, but probably what it is, she has not installed the software for the keyboard and mouse to enable the extra functions. She will have to install the Microsoft Intellitype Pro and IntelliMouse software off the cd or download able from microsoft.

Exactly. If Intellitype/point was installed already, I would just uninstall it, and reinstall. That should fix the problem. :)
