Microsoft Windows XP Pro w/SP2

that says upgrade on the box, as well as, the ad. Also it says regular price $99. Sounds and looks like an upgrade version to me. Not a new clean install ..

2) This Microsoft academic Windows XP upgrade license requires upgrade from Windows 98/98 SE, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP Home Edition. It does not allow clean installation without any of the above versions of Windows installed.

It is not a complete install, still not bad if you need an upgrade. Who would need an upgrade at this point though...

And check with your school. Many large universities will give it out free/price of media. I think my copy of XP and XP-64 together cost $3

Yeah, my school does that as well as gives away some really nice CAD programs. They don't give you a disk for those, but they install SolidWorks and AutoCAD where ever you want them too.

Upgrades are exactly like the full version except there's a step in there where you have to insert a previous version of windows to authenticate it.

You can use this with Boot Camp on a Mac to save some cash...you just need an external USB optical drive to put in an older disc for verification...

Bill Gates laughs at people in prison for software piracy. 😛 That being said, I proudly wore the eyepatch and cutlass for many years before finally getting a legal copy from my school.
