microsoft windows xp home upgrade for$49.99 no rebate!!

$50 and it has 99% of what pro has in it so it's a good deal. Vista Basic for $100 is going to be hard to sell.

Why does it say this on the website?

For computers currently running Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional

OfficeMax is not a high roller when it comes to computers...

Vista Basic is a downgrade, home premium seems like a decent deal.

If you are updating the computer with Win98 already installed, you won't need a COA number to enter nor the disk. If you are doing a clean install, with the WinXP upgrade disk, it will only ask you for the Win 98 disk to be temporarily loaded so it can check eligibility, and it will not ask you to enter the COA. The Dell Win 98 upgrade disk should work fine. After your XP home is installed, activated and running, when you are ready, the Vista Home Premium upgrade version will work fine as your upgrade.

If it's like xp you should be able to do a full install it will simply ask for your xp disc. So create a new partition and install a clean install.

so Vista upgrade disk "shouldn"t" deactivate my old key provide i install it on a different partition since I don't need to inpul my original cd-key?
