Microsoft Windows Vista

I am mostly concerned with the limitations and advantages of Windows Vista 64bit OS therefore did not think this was a hardware forum question.

Information I have includes wiki on incompatible hardware defined by product but what I am most interested in is any hardware class that won't be supported such as 802.11g or 802.11d etc.

Does anyone know if certain legacy technologies are explicitly not supported?

Thanks

Well, i've used wireless g with the beta builds, so it works. I had it installed on a Dell D610 and all the drivers were installed, so I can only assume the serial port was working correctly, although I never tried it (this was with the 32 bit version).

if your question is related to 64 bit vs. 32 bit than the same XP concepts apply.

Yes you need to have 64 bit drivers for a lot of your hardware and yes to take best advantage of it you're going to need 64 bit applications.

My guess is that 64 bit drivers will be much more readily available for Vista than they are for XP.
