Working link

In order to be eligible to receive Windows® XP Professional x64 Edition, your computer must have been ordered between March 31, 2003 and July 31, 2005 with Microsoft Windows® XP Pro (32 Bit) preinstalled.

Now how are they going to enforce this?

According this site they contradict themselves and say you can build your own pc's and still upgrade: http://www.overclockers.com/tips00767/

my key from WinXP Pro I bought from M$ several years ago won't work in the entry field...I guess that is how they are enforcing it...

It's most likely an honor system, much like many EULAs are. You break it and you are most likely illegal, but without any consequences. But the sad thing about breaking licensing agreements is that in many ways you might as well pirate, as you're essentially doing it anyways (although there still exists the benefit of giving developers money if you are in that grey area of an EULA).

How come there's only space for 4 boxes of 5 symbols for letters and the product key is 5 boxes of 5 symbols?

THis is just an extra copy of Pro I have laying around so I thought I might as well use it for the free upgrade if I can. But, I guess I can't anyway.

If I have not installed my copy of WinXP Pro 32-bit, can I get the PID some way?

I've tried over 6 COA's. And the website will not accept any of them. All of these PC's are less than 2 years old.

The company can't keep a website running, let alone an OS.. grr.
