Well I got in on the deal for this software several months ago. I am pretty sure I got it for free, and it ha sbeen sitting in the box unopened this whole time. How hard is it to use this OS? I mean I know quite a bit abotu computers, and Windows XP, but I know this OS offers many extars that I likely won't need/use. Although some may be fun to use. I do want to start learning more abotu networking, since that is probablly the area I know least about, not sure if this would be a good thing to use. How hard is it to use compared to XP Pro. I mean can I just ignore all the extras I don't need and run it just like a standard OS?

Not much else I can think to do with it since it is NFR, can't sell or trade it on the forums, per the rules. If you have any info you wish to provide you can PM me about it. Or also post in this thread. Thanks.

Take a look at this page. It's the home page for SBS 2003. There's LOTS you can do with it. It includes basically everything you need to get a small business off the ground, this includes file storage, messaging, database and security/vpn/firewall software.

I wouldn't use it as a stand alone OS. Technically you "could" but its basically Windows Server 2003 Standard as the OS. It also has SQL Server 2000, Exchange Server 2003, Outlook 2003, Sharepoint Server, and whatever else I'm forgetting it. I run it at home for fun and its a really nice setup for small businesses, but pointless to use otherwise.

Wow, I forgot about this post. I should add that my next rig will start as a single opteron 246, but will eventually become a dual opteron 246 rig. I have heard that this OS better controls how processes are carried out and can have great benefits for a dual CPU system, is this the case.
