Microsoft Windows 7 Will not install Properly

I tried to install Win 7 on my HTPC and the install failed. It restarted too soon and when it reboots it says Windows was not shut down Properly, I then select last known good Configuration or start windows normally and it goes through an Endless loop of that sequence
I tried loading the Nvidia AHCI Driver and I also tried the default driver
I also tried about 6 times using various driver combos with the same result
What are my options should I try the drive in IDE mode or just stay with my XP Professional Install?

GigaByte GA-73PVM-S2H
Intel Dual Core E5200
2 x 1GB of Super*Talent DDR-II 800MHZ
Seagate 500GB SATA II HDD running in AHCI Mode
Lite-On SOHR-5238S
NEC ND-3550A
Enlight 350Watt Peak PSU
Silverstone LC-20-B
MS Remote IR Receiver (It uses the Ehome driver Structure)
Hauppauge HVR-1800 OEM

try with i stick of ram, worked for me.

Also, for the installation, try to disconnect every unnecessary USB device. Leave just the keyboard and mouse. Mine wouldn't install cause I had a USB microSD card reader plugged in... It would hang at one point and after a reset inform me that installation wasn't completed properly and I would need to run it again. One stick of RAM is also a good idea :thumbsup:

Wifes pc also did this with her Kodak easy share dock plugged into the USB.
Unplugged it and tried again with only KB/Mouse in USB and Win 7 installed just fine.

he must leave plugged in his MS Remote IR Receiver or windows 7 will not install the driver correctly.

My drives on my HTPC are set at SATA, I think, and I have no issues. I haven't been able to find an option to change it, anyway (HP w/Asus OEM mobo).

Didn't have any problems installing on my main rig with the drives set to AHCI with 4 sticks of ram, 3 SATA drives and one IDE DVD.

Turns out the drivers for the on board HDMI were causing the install fail so I disabled it in the bios and then re enabled it after Windows installed and then W7 Installed the proper drivers
