Microsoft Windows 7 problem

This has been happening lately. I did a driver purge on all my drivers. I even installed W7 again. This is the 64bit version. This whole computer is brand new. I built it a month ago. AMD motherboard. AMD Phenom X6. It hasn't given me this probleme until 3 days ago.

The problem is that sometimes programs just fail to start. I click on them, they open an exe which I can see in my Process Viewer by doing ctrl+alt+delete. I can click on the same program multiple times and it just hangs there, multiple exe's, mocking me. This is VERY annoying and I'd like to tap this community to try to fix it. The only way I have found to circumvent it is to start a program as soon as Windows boots up.

I have W7 on an SSD while I have the Downloads, Music, Pictures, etc on a slave drive. Rift is on my SSD along with MSN Messenger, Zune and Chrome.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what it looks like when I try to start the programs. If I start, lets say, Google Chrome right when the computer boots all other programs start. This is weirdddddd:

Sorry. I don't have an answer for you but just wanted to let you know I have the same problem. it doesn't happen all the time but yes it is annoying as hell! I Have been running 7 home premium 64bit since Sept. '10 and if I am not mistaking the problem seems to have started after installing SP1.

Start here. Go to Control Panel - Performance Information and Tools - Advanced Tools

See if the is anything under performance issues.

when you reinstalled windows did you wipe the drives? if not have you done a virus scan recently? cause that looks like a worm or a virus of some sort givin that everything is taking up the same amount of memory, and a very small amount at that.

Nope, nothing under there.

Yes, when I did a clean wipe I formatted both hard drives. I doubt it's a worm or a virus, but thanks for the reply. They are taking that small amount of memory because I click on them but they are in limbo. That is what I'm trying to figure out: why?

I have seen bad drivers do this before. Typicly sound drivers. Try getting the latest driver from the motherboard manufacturer.

Just like Matt1970. this is a drivers issue. Be careful for the beta drivers.

Yup, have to agree on the driver issues.....go through your setup and make sure you have the latest Bios and update the drivers.

I just posted in another thread to reboot your system and press f8. When the menu comes up, scroll down to last known configuration that worked. See if that helps you out.
