microsoft wheelmouse optical stopped working...

i brought a microsoft wheelmouse optical mouse a few months ago.. yesterday it start to act funny.. it start to lag and stuff.. i rebooted and it just quit working.. the led light is off and when i try to unplug it from the usb port and plug it back in.. i get a unnamed device thing..

how can i fix this problem??
 
First try another USB device on this port. If it works, it may be safe to assume that the mouse has bit the dust, especially if the light does not come on...
 
If the mouse is broken, just tell MS and they ship you a new one (you have to find the link though, don't remember where to do that).
