microsoft wheelmouse optical stopped working...

i brought a microsoft wheelmouse optical mouse a few months ago.. yesterday it start to act funny.. it start to lag and stuff.. i rebooted and it just quit working.. the led light is off and when i try to unplug it from the usb port and plug it back in.. i get a unnamed device thing..

how can i fix this problem??
 
call microsoft cust. service. They will replace it for you without a problem. They have good customer service. Do a search on these forums, or look in the users guide that installed with the mouse driver for their number.
