Microsoft WheelMouse Optical mouse at Fry's B&M for 19.95 in the Los Angeles area. Pretty good price for this model.

Note:
As somebody pointed out below, there is not the "Optical" model but the "Wheelmouse Optical".

Man oh man I've been trying to find this at this price for so long! I wish I was at home in L.A. then I could get it. GRR. Thanks so much for the posting.

Note: This is NOT the Intellimouse Optical. It's the wheel mouse optical. I think the wheel mouse optical is usually around 20-30 bucks. The Intellimouse Optical is $50 and has the thumb buttons. Still a good deal though. I have no idea what the difference between wheel mouse optical and intellimouse optical are aside from the shape.

Wow, I didn't notice that. I'll make the changes to the title. Thanks. I was wondering why there wasn't any thumb button!

The difference is the price, the thumb button, and I personally think the bigger one is much harder to use due to the fact that you can easily press the buttons just by resting your fingers on them. I like the cheaper ones better.

I totally agree with sygyzy, the smaller mouse is better and easier to use. Plus I have a regular Logitech wheelmouse which I like a lot but I have NEVER once used the side button. It's more of an annoyance instead of a convenience.

onvia has this for 22.49 (just about, if not exact) shipped, so for those too lazy to drive to a Fry's and fight the lines, etc., you can do that.

One nice thing about the extra buttons is that they're programmable. I have the Logitech Optical Mouseman Wheel, and have the thumb button programmed to minimize all windows, which I find quite useful. A good friend has his programmed as the "enter" button, and he swears by it. Incredibly useful? No, but we both find ourselves missing it when we go to other computers.

I beleive Best Buy also has this mouse for $19.99 (regular price). I was looking at it yesterday. It is a Microsoft optical wheel mouse and is USB. I was going to buy it, but my store was temp out of them.

Hey ashandarei, why do you need to minimize all windows at once so quickly? In case somebody catches you looking at porn?

ashandarei - Even if you're using the side button as a "panick porn" button, thanks for bringing up that idea.

My Logitech Wheelmouseman has always had this side button which I've had no use for. I didn't realize that you could program it to minimize all. This will save me lots of trips to the lower left hand corner of the screen.

Tip: To minimize all windows, just hit the "Windows" or "start" key and hit "M".

Myself, I program the thumb button to go "forward" on a web page, and I program the click of the wheel to go "back".

I got the Logitech mousin' software going, and my 4th button is a menu that pops up, giving me Start, Close, Minimize, scroll hori, scroll vert, next window, menu all within close reach. Here's what I do to close a window:

#1. Press button.
#2. Flick wrist to the upper right about 1 cm.
#3. Let go of button.

For minimize:

#1. Press button.
#2. Flick wrist up about 1 cm.
#3. Let go of button.

For start menu:

#1. Press button.
#2. Flick wrist to the lower left about 1 cm.
#3. Let go of button.

You guys get the point. Very useful. Beats any Microsoft mousing software. I do like that 5th button though....and the explorer mouse beats the intellimouse any day. no one ever uses their pinky to press the 5th button...it's better off next to the 4th button. just my 2 cents.
