microsoft visual c++ error - roxio

im having problems intaliing roxio video 9 on my computer....i have installed it and now when i open it i get the following error:

buffer overrun error has been detected, which has corrupted the programs internal state. the program cannot continue execution.

looks like a microsoft visual c++ error in the runtime library....
so im not sure what that mean...any help appreciated
