I have a PC with W7 Pro and am doing a little housecleaning

I have thirteen entries in my programs and features folder in Win 7. are these comulative? or can I uninstall the earlier instances and leave the most recent behind? Are there compatability issues with different programs on my PC.

Thanks,

Marc

Yeah MS's handling of the runtimes are even worse than for NET Framework, if you can imagine that. They aren't cumulative, you need each of the compatibility and security updates. However, the SP1 redistributable packages are cumulative (i.e. if you installed the SP1 package, you don't need the pre-SP1 package).

I hope MS slows down Visual Studio releases. If they stick to yearly releases its going to get ugly fast.
