Microsoft Vista family plan discount abruptly ended by MS?

Welcome to business. They must of had their reason. If you think they are being unfair, just remember who you are talking about.

Sadly, I didn't know about this ending, and I didn't get in on the deal, although I planned to once I rebuilt my secondary/gaming rig. I wish MS had clearly spelled out when the deal was ending, it seems kind of unfair to abruptly cut it off.

I agree with your comment that it would have been nice to make it clearer that the program was ending.

Of course, I'm still laughing since you've spent the last few weeks anti-Vista trolling and are now upset you can't ugprade cheaply. The thread combination was great self-ownage 😉

LOL. Are anti-Vista posts automatically trolling in your eyes?

At least you know I try to stay legit with my software.

I seem to remember all of the original announcements about the family deal saying that it was going to end at the end of June, but it hasn't been mentioned in much since then.

Nope, not at all. Heck, even you occasionally don't troll (your 5 limit connection problem, for example). But most of your posts are simply reposts of others opinions, or are out right lies. The thread about the audio stack and NUMA being a great example. Every poster showed you to be wrong, so you just 'disappeared' and started spouting garbage in a different thread.

You ask for help on any legitimate issue or concern I'm happy to comment. You troll for trolling sake and you get called out. My pattern of responses to that should be clear.

Bear in mind, at some point trolls simple can't post anymore...

Yeah. There was originally a deadline of June 28, as I recall. Last time I looked, I couldn't find the deadline listed on their web site, but I'm POSITIVE that there was a deadline at the end of June.

Hmmm - maybe you should get over there and buy it now while they are still taking orders.

I was also lamenting my procrastination, but I went to Microsoft's web site to verify the deal was done and they took my order! Hurry!

Good Luck!
