Whats with all the mac hate?

Mac envy. It's quite sad, really.

It's actually that attitude that drives the mac hate.

No, you just hate what you can't have.

I have a MacBook actually, which I love (and you would have realized if you read a few posts up). Thanks for proving my point.

It's not elitism, it's marketing. Microsoft isn't making a heartfelt appeal to the people, they're marketing. This isn't politics, it's business. Sheesh. Stop taking any of this personally, and you'll be a lot less weird.

There's a difference between owning a macbook and owning a macbook. You clearly don't know the difference.

I'm a Mac, you're a PC. Sorry, that's the way it is.

And this is why everybody refers to Mac lovers as douches.

This is true. However, Windows 7 is quite an improvement over Vista. Once 7 comes out I think it'll be huge. Should really hurt Mac sales.

I run the Win 7 beta, while I like it. I don't think most people will care. Outside of new PC's coming bundled with it, I don't see many people at all running out to actually buy the OS. And with the economy in the shitter. I don't see many people buying new PC's. Windows 7 will only fare slightly better than Vista has.

There are valid reasons for a Mac, I was at a producers house a few weeks ago and the software + plugin he uses are for Mac only. while technically he could build a PC that would install OSX for much less. But he likes support and such, so a PC isn't a viable option to him.

Depends on how much disposable income people, how much they like style over anything else, and how much they crave pure performance.
Given any combination of those three variables, or even someone with all 3 - Windows 7 should fare very well. :)

Looks nicer than Vista (effing LOVE that new taskbar - finally get rid of this launcher), is snappier than Vista, and more importantly, is actually more friendly and offers better performance.
All this while in Beta 1. :Q

I seriously am anxious for Windows 7. I'll probably get it from school.
And all those that never upgraded to Vista because they jumped on board the bandwagon of hate, all the while spewing bullshit and never checking facts... well no more excuse, Windows 7 is far and away the best Windows OS, destroys XP. Only issue now will be, those still on XP, will be greeted by quite a shocking first few days with 7, as many basic settings and whatnot - while only marginally tweaked compared to Vista - have moved around and been tweaked quite a bit compared to XP.

I wouldn't run either even if i got it for free.

I think they are both horrid solutions to a simple problem, namely to run the applications i need to run. THAT is the primary purpose of an Operating System.

Actually, i got it after my first run in with the boy, he's just messing with people, half of it is sarcasm, the other half is just to see how far he can take a useless point before someone snaps. :D

Haha, I actually have an acquaintance like that. He's a funny guy but I hate talking to him. Great drinking buddy though if you tune out the constant shit-talking. :p

Well if you would rather drive a VW instead of a Cadilac, the more power to you.

I tried OS X on my PC, got it to work, downloaded all the software I could think of and installed, I am not impressed. The fact that you don't have to worry about viruses in pirated Mac software must be a big selling point for all the sophisticated groovy Mac owners. Follow up action: DELETED THE HOLE THING!

I installed the newest version of Ubuntu, installed all the software I could think of. I am not impressed. Follow up action: DELETED THE HOLE THING!

Installed windows 7 and ran it for a few day. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The thing looks so much more refined. Follow up action: Went back to Vista and anxiously waiting for the final version of 7

Windows 7 will be on my computers the day it comes out.

Are there any quastions?

- Why can't I two finger scroll on any windows laptop? (at least, that I've seen)
- Why is getting a MacBook to work with my TV sooooooo much easier than any xp laptop?
- Why is it so goddamn hard to resize pictures on my Mac?
- Why does office suck so bad on a Mac?
- Why is it so hard to play porn videos on a Mac?

I prefer OSX but some things like DirectX compatibility better hardware variety you can't just give up. Windows 7 is pretty good though.

For a notebook though I would not considering anything other than a Macbook Pro.
