I've heard from some of my friends that own PS3s, that some of the more fun games that were available for purchase on PSN are no longer available, period.

Censorship is much easier when you control distribution with an iron fist (digital distribution).

yup. they took mortal kombat 2 off of there. you can no longer purchase it for ps3. they probably removed it though because the kollection came out and they wanted people to buy that instead.

Meh, you're a tiny tiny fraction of people who buy games. Besides, quite a few older gen games are available for digital download.

Tiny fraction? How do all those boxed copies of chrono trigger and all show up on eBay?

Yup, publishers love to make things unavailable to drive up the "scarcity", look at those cockgobblers at Disney who trumpet their "Released for the first time in 50 years" cartoons. Screw that, digital distribution is great, but only as a distribution method. Limited utilization of something you've purchased by locking it to hardware, accounts, time limits, etc. is bullshit.
